Leaders in Exercise, Physical Activity, and Sport

There is a long and distinguished history of Kinesiology (Sport and Exercise Science) at the University of Northern Colorado. The Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Dietetics (KiND) prepares individuals to assume leadership roles in exercise, sport, and physical activity settings.

Our Kinesiology (or Sport and Exercise Science programs focus on many aspects of human movement and its application to sport management, physical activity and the quality of life. Students in SES focus on one of several areas of human movement, including physiological and biomechanical aspects of exercise, psychological and sociological aspects of physical activity, traditional and outdoor physical education, as well as the marketing and management of sport. Our degree programs prepare students to compete successfully for careers in the allied health industries, public school systems and sport management positions. Interested in physical education? UNC is Colorado's flagship institution for the preparation of physical education teachers.
